HOLINESS OF LIFE
The life of holiness is a continual striving for perfection. No one is absolutely perfect, but we can all seek for perfection. God expects continual growth in grace, knowledge and increasing production of our spiritual fruits. The Christian’s daily goal is to overcome sin: and if he does sin, he can receive forgiveness by repentance and confession.
Holiness is not a means of earning salvation but a result of salvation. Holiness comes by faith, love, and walking in the Spirit. If we as Christians truly believe God, we will obey His Word.
For readers of this pen today, love is far stricter and more demanding than law or duty. The Holy Spirit imparts a holy nature to each believer. It is only through the guidance and power of God’s Spirit that the believer can overcome sin and truly live righteous.
It is the Holy Spirit that teaches holiness by the inspired Word of God. Following holiness requires personal effort, for truly holiness is not automatic. I am striving to attain holiness. Every Christian has to yield to the working of God’s Spirit and strive to live holy.
Scripture says, “Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy; for I am the Lord your God.” (Leviticus 20:7,) and again, “But as he (God) which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation (life); because it is written, be ye holy; for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:15-16)
God’s desire is that every Christian lives a holy life; are you ready for the challenge to live holy?
God Bless,
Pastor Clark
